Supporting Every Child to Thrive

At Gladesville Primary School, student wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to creating a safe, supportive and inclusive environment where every child feels connected, valued and ready to learn.

We understand that positive mental health and wellbeing are essential for academic success, personal growth and healthy relationships. When students feel safe, supported and engaged, they are better able to learn, participate and achieve their potential.

As a small school, we are uniquely placed to know every child as an individual. Strong relationships between students, staff and families enable us to provide personalised support and foster a genuine sense of belonging.

Our Whole-School Approach to Wellbeing:

Students participate in regular wellbeing learning that develops emotional literacy, resilience, self-regulation, friendship skills and positive coping strategies. These important skills are explicitly taught and reinforced through everyday classroom experiences.

The Gladesville Way

Our school values of Respect, Kindness, Gratitude and Persistence are explicitly taught, modelled and celebrated throughout the school. These values help students develop positive relationships, make responsible choices and contribute positively to our school community.

Safe and Supportive Learning Environment

We strive to create calm, orderly and inclusive learning environments where every student feels safe and respected. Positive behaviour expectations are taught consistently across the school, helping students understand how to learn, play and interact successfully with others.

Student Voice and Leadership

We believe every student deserves to be heard. Through our Student Voice Team, leadership opportunities, classroom discussions and regular feedback opportunities, students are encouraged to share their ideas, contribute to school improvement and develop confidence as learners and leaders.

Personalised Support

Our wellbeing team works closely with students, families and external agencies to provide additional support when required. We recognise that every child is different and are committed to ensuring students receive the support they need to thrive socially, emotionally and academically.

Partnerships with Families

Strong partnerships between home and school are essential for student wellbeing. We value open communication and work collaboratively with parents and carers to support students, celebrate successes and address concerns early.

Respectful Relationships and Child Safety

Gladesville Primary School is committed to being a Child Safe School. We explicitly teach students about respectful relationships, personal safety, help-seeking behaviours and how to contribute to a positive and inclusive community where everyone feels valued and respected.

If you have concerns about your child's wellbeing, please contact the school. We are here to help and work in partnership with families to ensure every student feels safe, supported and successful.
