Student Leadership

At Gladesville Primary School, we use consistent, evidence-based wellbeing practices across the whole school to support every student. Student Leadership is one such initiative that plays a significant role in strengthening students’ sense of connection to school.

Student Voice Team

Students are introduced to leadership through our Student Voice Team, a student-led group that acts as a formal liaison between students and school leadership. The team helps influence decision-making, school culture and learning experiences. Representatives from Prep to Year 6 meet weekly to plan, implement and evaluate school-wide projects that benefit both the school and the wider community.

Student Voice Focus Groups

Student voice is further strengthened through weekly focus groups, which provide opportunities for students to share their perspectives on all aspects of school life. Each week, different students take part, ensuring a wide range of voices are heard across the school. These discussions inform decision-making and help shape improvements to teaching, learning, wellbeing and the overall school experience.

Formal Leadership Roles

We have a range of captaincy roles which our Yar 6 students apply for through written applications and presentations. Furthermore, we have a range of othe leadership roles for all of our Senior students (Year 5 and 6). Thes students partiapte in a 'Leadership Hour' once a week where they learn leadership skills as well as undertake tasks related to their role.
