Instructional Models are guidelines or sets of strategies on which the approaches to teaching are based. Effective instructional models are based on learning theories. At Gladesville Primary School, our instructional model incorporates explicit teaching pedagogical approach, Marzarno’s The Art of Science and Teaching, Hattie’s Visible Learning and Covey’s 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.
As per the Department of Education and Training guidelines;
An instructional model:
Supports schools to develop a shared language about teacher practice
Supports teacher reflection and informs the professional learning needed
Engages and motivates teachers to consider how their teaching practice can best support student learning.
