Friends of Gladesville

‘Friends of Gladesville’ (FOG) is Gladesville Primary School’s 2018 Fundraising Committee. FOG is a subcommittee of School Council and will consist of committed parents/friends who get together to help make our school the best it can be and significantly contribute to our school. All FOG fundraising events for 2018 will contribute towards our ICT programs, learning spaces and provide financial support for Learning Programs.

We have already planned specific dates throughout the 2018 school year for future FOG events. These dates are filled with fundraising ideas for both our school and some wonderful charities. We try to balance our fundraising activities to consider the school calendar, day time and night time events, social events, events with and without children, and events which are low cost to participants or which offer greater fundraising potential.

The aim of FOG is to continue building our school community to ensure each student at Gladesville Primary School enjoys learning while accomplishing his/her full potential. Part of this is to assist in the important task of raising funds to help all of our students utilise the best possible resources to achieve this. We need your help at these events to make them a success for our school.

Some of the activities include:

  • welcoming new families to our community and generally being a liaison between parents and the school for many queries.
  • Mothers’ Day and Fathers’ Day stalls and raffles
  • Easter Raffles
  • Contributing toward the major 2018 fundraiser - SHOW n SHINE car/bike show
  • Bunnings BBQ
  • VEC Election Day BBQ
  • Christmas raffles
  • Special food days
  • Movie nights
  • Donation days to fundraise for charities including Motor Neuron Disease Australia, The Cancer Council, The Heart Foundation and Kids Hope.

Whether you are able to help in a hands-on role, or wish to attend meetings to garner information about your child’s school, we welcome any family member to join.

How does an event work?

All of our events will be planned at the start of 2018 for the whole year. Each member will have the opportunity to bring new ideas to the table. Each event will have a voluntary coordinator (you will have the opportunity to choose the events you wish to coordinate) who will be able to give delegate roles to other members. The event coordinator will manage the event with the Business Manager and all other FOG members will be able to help if they want and if they are available. Each event will have a different coordinator and everyone will have the opportunity to be involved.

If you are interested in becoming a member of FOG, please contact the office.
